There were a bit of customization with Crystals, and you had only a set amount of skills you can equip which further the customization. I also really like the level up system they or character progression whatever you want to call it. I did however did not like the sky armor battles, I though they were just uninteresting compare to the regular battles. There were some main events where it just didn’t give us enough details, Like the build up was very interesting and at the end I find myself saying “That’s it?” Battle system was fun and engaging because of the overdrive bar and the difficulty of the enemies. The events were short and quick to the point. There is only a few battles with a section of the maps which I though made sense and a perfect amount. The map was quite large, but not too large where it became a walking sim.
The Pacing of the game was really well done in my opinion, good amount of exploration, battles, and events. I found it hard to turn off the game at 2 AM and go to sleep. Chained Echoes is a 16-bit style RPG set in a fantasy world where dragons are as common as piloted mechanical suits. Take up your sword, channel your magic or board your Mech.
